Use of Citric Acid and Sunresin’s Technology in Demineralization and Decolorization

The ion exchange process is an effective and mature process technology in the demineralization and decolorization of citric acid, and is widely used in the industrial production of citric acid. However, the high osmotic pressure of citric acid causes repeated expansion and contraction of the resins during the fine purification process, and makes the resins bear a huge osmotic pressure, especially for anion exchange resins. Under this condition, the resins can be easily broken, reducing the service life of the resins and increasing the cost. This has become a common problem that holds back the development of the industry, and there was a strong call for a solution.

Acetic Acid Purification with Sunresin’s Ion Exchange Resins

Sunresin provides a mature ion exchange resin process for acetic acid purification, which can remove bromine or chloride ions in acetic acid to less than 5ppm, or undetectable levels. The fixed bed mode is recommended for the ion exchange process for acetic acid purification, which runs continuously and removes impurities through the front and back resin columns to improve the removal accuracy and ensure the maximum utilization of the resins. Sunresin’s adsorption resins for removal of perfluorinated pollutants in water and their production and application

In Sunresin’s method, the hydrophobicity of the resin is further increased, the degree of crosslinking gets increased, and the pore structure gets adjusted. The adsorption resins have a narrow particle size distribution, uniform pore size and high specific surface area. As the size of micropores in the resin is close to the molecular size of perfluorooctanoate in water, which has a strong selectivity of the adsorbates and can therefore further increase the adsorption rate of perfluorinated compounds.
