The Difference Between Weak Anion Exchange Resin and Strong Anion Exchange Resin

The weak anion exchange resin is divided into macroporous type and gel type, and the skeleton is divided into styrene and acrylic acid system. The strong anion exchange resinis also divided into macroporous type and gel type, and the skeleton is also divided into styrene and acrylic acid systems. Styrene resin belongs to rigid sphere, while acrylic resin sphere has better toughness.

The difference between weak anion exchange resin and strong anion exchange resin: 

1) The working exchange capacity of weak anion resin is more than twice that of strong anion exchange resin.

2) Weak anion resin can exchange strong acid anion (such as sulfate ion, chloride ion), but it is difficult to exchange weak acid anion (such as silicate ion).

3) Weak anion exchange resin has better anti-organic pollution ability than strong anion exchange resin, and its recovery ability is very good. In the case of high organic content, the design of strong-cationic bed + weak-anionic bed + strong- anionic bed + mixed-bed will be selected. There will also be strong and weak combined process of double-chamber floating window plus double-chamber floating bed. Of course, acrylic strong anion resin 213 has very high anti-organic properties, and its working exchange capacity is 30-50% higher than that of conventional strong anion exchange resin 201x7.
